Digital Smile Design (DSD) and Hollywood Smile: Aesthetic Architecture Unique to Your Face

Digital Smile Design (DSD) and Hollywood Smile: Aesthetic Architecture Unique to Your Face

Hollywood Smile

The Digital Smile Design (DSD) protocol we apply in our clinic offers a predictable, minimally invasive, and completely personalized treatment process. Our goal is not to apply a standard template to everyone, but to build an organic and harmonic smile integrated with your facial features, expressions, and character.

Why Digital Smile Design? Unlike traditional dentistry, the digital design process leaves no room for 'surprises'. Before starting treatment, you have the chance to experience exactly how the result will look, not just on the screen, but in your own mouth.

In this process, we analyze these parameters with scientific data:

Facial Morphology: Your face shape (oval, square, heart, etc.) determines the tooth forms. Lip Dynamics and Smile Line: How much your lips rise when talking and smiling, and the visibility of the gums (Gummy Smile) are calculated millimetrically. Zenit Points: The symmetry of the highest points of the gum is critical for an aesthetic pink-white balance.

Flawless Transformation in 4 Steps: Design and Treatment Protocol

1

Professional Recording and Analysis (Visagism)

In the first session, your high-resolution macro intraoral photos and facial profile videos are recorded in a studio environment. Your expressions that occur not only while standing but also while talking and smiling are analyzed. We listen to your expectations and blend your aesthetic concerns with technical data.

2

Digital Architectural Design

The data obtained is transferred to special DSD software. A 'Golden Ratio' map of your face is extracted. By taking the line passing through your pupils (interpupillary line) as a reference; the length, width, form and color of the teeth are designed in the digital environment in the most appropriate way for your face. This stage is the point where aesthetics meets engineering.

3

Mock-Up Rehearsal (Live Trial)

This is the most critical stage that distinguishes us from others. The design prepared in the digital environment is transferred to your mouth with a special wax/silicon technique (without any procedure on your teeth, without cutting). The Moment You Look in the Mirror: You see your new smile live. Video Analysis: You perform talking and laughing rehearsals with your doctor, and perform phonation (letter pronunciation) tests. Approval: No permanent procedure is started until you say 'Yes, this is my smile'.

4

Treatment and Finalization

The design you approve goes into production with millimetric precision. The most appropriate material (Zirconium, E-max or Laminate Veneer) is selected according to your expectations and tooth structure. The exact same design from the rehearsal stage is applied to your teeth with permanent materials.

Material Selection: Which Treatment is Right for You?

The materials we use are top-tier products that best mimic natural teeth in terms of light transmittance and durability.

Laminate Veneer (Porcelain Layers)

The method with the least intervention to tooth tissue (sometimes no abrasion at all). Thin porcelains bonded to the front surface provide maximum aesthetics and light refraction.

E-max (Full Ceramic)

Also known as glass ceramic. Light transmittance is very high. Generally preferred for front area aesthetics where naturalness is at the forefront.

Zirconium

Gives excellent results in situations where both aesthetics and high resistance (durability against fracture) are required, in back areas or tooth deficiencies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Frequently asked questions and answers about the procedure.

How long does the smile design process take?
On average, the entire process is completed within 3 to 5 days (usually 2 or 3 sessions). Accelerated protocols can be applied for our patients coming from abroad or out of town.
Will my teeth be cut during the mock-up (rehearsal)?
No. The mock-up stage is completely like a 'test drive'. A form is shown by applying a temporary material over your existing teeth without touching them. If you don't like it, it is removed and your teeth remain as they were.
Does 'Hollywood Smile' look artificial?
No. The goal of digital design is not 'artificial whiteness' but 'personalized naturalness'. The color scale is determined by considering your skin tone, eye color, and age. 'Bleach' (extra white) or 'Natural' (natural transition) tones can be selected as desired.
