However, as in every sector, you must be very careful when choosing the clinic to which you will entrust your health. In order not to be disappointed, I have compiled 5 "red flags" (warning signs) that you should walk away from when you see them during your research process.

1. Prices That Are Too Good to Be True and Hidden Costs

Yes, dental treatment in Turkey is much more affordable compared to Europe or America. This is not due to a lack of quality, but to the advantage of exchange rates and laboratory costs. However, if you are offered a price that is way below the market average, you should stop and think.

Why Is It Dangerous? Places we call "under-the-table" may be using uncertified implants of Chinese origin or low-quality zirconium blocks to reduce costs.

What Should You Do? Ask in detail what the price includes (transfer, accommodation, temporary teeth, etc.). Make sure there will be no "surprise" extra fees.

2. Hiding Materials and Brands Used

If you cannot get a clear answer when you ask a clinic "Which brand of implant or veneer do you use?" or if you are brushed off with vague expressions, this is one of the biggest red flags.

What Should You Do? Be sure to confirm whether the clinic will provide you with a globally valid "Implant Passport" and material certificates.

3. Rushed, "Miraculous" Treatment Times

Although the sentence "We finish your full mouth implant treatment and veneers in 2 days!" sounds great, it is not compatible with biological facts. Dentistry is a business of engineering and biology; healing processes cannot be rushed.

Why Is It Dangerous? If loading is done quickly just so you can return from your holiday early without your bone structure being suitable, it may cause your implants to fall out a few months later.

What Should You Do? Choose physicians who make a personalized, realistic planning that respects biological healing times based on a comprehensive X-ray (Panoramic or Tomography).

4. Intermediaries and Not Being Able to Communicate Directly with the Physician

Be careful if you only find a sales-oriented, aggressive marketing team when you write from social media or the website, and you cannot even learn the name of the physician who will perform your treatment.

Why Is It Dangerous? Intermediary agencies can be useful in health tourism, but your medical processes should be planned by a dentist, not a marketer.

What Should You Do? Examine the resume, expertise, and previous cases (before/after photos) of the doctor who will perform your treatment. If possible, request a short online preliminary meeting with your doctor before coming.

5. Lack of "Warranty" and Support After Treatment

Your treatment is over, you got on the plane with your perfect smile and returned to your country. But what if you have a problem months later? Will your clinic answer your calls?

Why Is It Dangerous? Clinics that only focus on the moment of the procedure and do not care about the post-treatment process will leave you alone in case of a possible complication.

What Should You Do? Ask for the warranty conditions offered by the clinic to international patients in writing (with clearly defined terms and limits).
